Undergraduate programmes

As a core discipline of relevance to any job involving decision-making and analysis, economics is an advantageous option as a major in either the BA or BCom qualifications, or as a useful complement to any other major within the university.

Alternatively, students can combine economics with their interests in other fields, through a double major within the Faculty of Business and Economics or the Faculty of Arts (for example, economics and finance), or a conjoint degree that combines majors across Schools or Faculties (for example, economics and law).

Students can choose their upper level courses to focus on any of the main areas of specialisation in economics, including international trade, international finance, financial economics, labour economics, econometrics, public policy, industrial organisation, macroeconomics, economic theory, economic history, and environmental and resource economics.
