*We recommend that students pursuing a Bachelor of Property degree commence their study at the beginning of the year. Please contact the Business Student Centre for advice on course selection if you wish to commence this programme in Semester 2.

Degree highlights

  • In the first year you will study a set of core courses in business and an introductory property course.
  • The second and third years comprise more specialised property courses. Two courses in General Education round out the final year of the programme. Through your studies in the BProp you will develop a range of academic and professional
    skills that will prepare you to work in the property industry.
  • Courses in the programme will include property-related subjects such as marketing, management, valuation, finance and investment, development and building surveying. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a buddy programme through which you will receive mentoring from senior people in the property industry.

Degree structure

First year

  • Study two courses in Business introducing you to the types of choices facing
  • entrepreneurs and managers and focusing on the development of professional skills.
  • Take a broad range of courses in core subjects including Accounting, Economics, Commercial Law and Information Systems.
  • Receive an introduction to property.
  • Take one course in General Education.

Second year and beyond

  • Take courses in valuation, marketing, management, finance, economics, law, land use planning and controls, and building constructions.
  • Continue developing your knowledge of the major areas of property finance and investment, valuation, marketing,  management and building surveying.
  • Combine these topics in applied property projects.
