Service science
In 2008, CODE — in partnership with the Centre of Information Technology and the Networked Economy (CITNE) and with IBM Research Labs — conducted research on the newly emerging discipline of Service Science.
Postgraduate course in Service Science
In 2007, CODE facilitated and coordinated a multi-disciplinary postgraduate course in Service Science — a newly conceptualised area of enquiry.
The disciplines were Marketing, Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM), Accounting & Finance, MER, Computer Science, and Health Informatics.
This postgraduate programme was continued in 2008.
Research on Service Science
In September 2008, CODE partnered with the Centre of Information Technology and the Networked Economy (CITNE) at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India, and with IBM Research Labs (Bangalore and Almaden). The group conducted research on Service Science.
This six-person research team involves colleagues from the ISOM, Marketing, and Management disciplines. Members have investigated key dimensions of the service brand experience, and surveyed IT firms on service dimensions and connectivity.
To date, this research has been published and presented at:
- The 1st International Conference on Service in Emerging Markets (23-24 September 2010) held at the ISB and chaired by IBM Research Labs (Bangalore and Almaden). - The research roundtable (November 2009) was hosted by the Centre of Digital Enterprise (CODE), the Centre of IT and the Networked Economy (CITNE, Indian School of Business), and IBM Research Labs (Bangalore). Global Mobility Roundtable
In November 2008, CODE hosted the Global Mobility Roundtable (consisting of international research academics, business leaders and policy makers in mobile technologies).
This conference featured a keynote address by Dr Paul Maglio, IBM Labs (Almaden) which introduced the Service Science concept to the global academic audience attending the roundtable.
