Abstract:
On behalf of Professor Greg Whittred, Dean of The University of Auckland Business School, we invite you to celebrate the launch of Owen G Glenn’s new book, Making a Difference.

From humble beginnings in New Zealand, Owen G Glenn went on to build a hugely successful global business empire and is now focusing his wealth to deliver philanthropic benefits around the world.

This fascinating memoir, published by Random House New Zealand, gives some insights into Owen’s business philosophies and commercial strategies, especially his international business expansion and success. It describes his life, growing up in India and New Zealand, and the considerable effort he is putting into his philanthropic work. This is a great read and is inspiring and aspirational for every New Zealander.

Owen will be interviewed by Radio Live business reporter Andrew Patterson and there will be an opportunity for Owen to take questions from the audience and to sign copies of his book.

Bio:
Owen recently sold OTS Logistics Group, an integrated global transport conglomerate. He was an internationally-recognised leader in the logistics industry, and is an inspiration to others interested in business and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Since 2005 Owen has contributed more than NZ$8 million to The University of Auckland Business School. He also supports a range of other causes in New Zealand, including the AUT Millennium Institute of Sport and Health, and New Zealand Hockey.

Thirty years ago, Owen founded the Glenn Family Foundation and it continues its work in India to support village development and children being rescued from exploitation. He was appointed to the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2008 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws from The University of Auckland in 2012.
