Internet access
At The University of Auckland internet access is provided for you automatically - no need to sign up, pay up or set up!
The default plan for all undergraduate students allows the following:
- Unlimited high speed access to all University websites (Cecil, EC Mail, Student Services Online etc) and electronic resources provided by the Library.
- High speed access to all non-University websites, with a 200MB monthly data allowance.
- Option to purchase additional data if you exceed your monthly data allowance, 100MB for $2.
The default plan for all postgraduate students allows the following:
- Unlimited high speed access to all University websites (Cecil, EC Mail, Student Services Online etc) and electronic resources provided by the Library.
- High speed access to all non-University websites, with a 400MB monthly data allowance.
- Option to purchase additional data if you exceed your monthly data allowance, 100MB for $2.
Doctoral students are automatically placed on the Business School staff plan.
The undergraduate and postgraduate plans have a monthly data allowance for non-University websites. If you exceed your data allowance before the end of the month you can purchase additional data:
- Additional data is sold in 100 MB bundles and costs $2 per bundle (including GST).
- Data must be used within the year it was purchased.
- If you choose not to purchase additional data, non-University websites will be delivered at a slower speed for the rest of the month. University websites will continue to be delivered at high speed.
- When you purchase additional data your copy balance will be debited for this purchase.
Please note purchases of additional data are non-refundable.

Students connecting a laptop to the University's wireless network can either:
- Use the default connection or;
- Change your settings to use the high speed access and data allowance that comes with your Internet plan.
