View the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree highlights, find out if you are eligible and how you can apply for admission.

In general, the student profile will fit into one of two broad study clusters:

  • Auckland MBA pathway: This group normally follows a two-year path to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Business with the top students spending a further year to complete either an MBA or a Master of Management degree. Currently, this cohort has an average age of 34 and an average of 11 years’ work experience.
  • Executive MBA pathway: This direct entry cohort normally follows an intensive two-year path to complete an MBA degree and is delivered fortnightly. Currently, the cohort has an average age of 41 and an average of 18 years’ work experience.
Degree highlights

The MBA programme is designed to help managers and senior executives grow and succeed in their chosen fields. It recognises that the MBA experience embraces both professional and personal development.

  • Lecturers are highly experienced academics and practitioners.
  • Students are selected on the basis of academic prowess, experience, accomplishment and leadership qualities.
  • Throughout the programme you gain valuable insights from classroom visitors and speakers who include prominent business figures, government leaders, leading academics and global commentators.
  • In groups, you will work on applied consulting projects focusing separately on business growth issues and international business challenges (including an international business trip*) for selected New Zealand companies.
  • You are exposed to networking opportunities through the Business School’s monthly MBA Breakfast for MBA students and alumni together with regular business events staged at the School.
  • You have access to career planning guidance and coaching expertise.

*Note: Students are responsible for all travel and associated expenses for the international business trip in addition to all programme course fees, text books and related expenses.
