Scholarships and awards

New and postgraduate Māori and Pacific students can access a range of scholarships and awards provided either by the University or through external organisations.

  • Scholarships and Financial Support Office
    Support available to Māori and Pacific students through The University of Auckland Scholarships and Financial Support Office.
  • Te Ohu Kaimoana
    Offers scholarships to assist Māori women and men to undertake management training that will assist in the development and management of their Iwi fishing operation and Resource Management training. The scholarships are open to all Māori, from school leavers to students currently studying at university. Applications are open all year round, however, Te Ohu Kaimoana advises that you should submit your application at least two weeks prior to the start of your course.
  • Federation of Māori Authorities Inc (FoMA)
    The education scholarship and grant information page provides information regarding what financial support is available for Māori students.
  • Te Puni Kōkiri
    Lists a number of websites that provide information on Māori scholarships.
  • Hulton Patchell
    An accounting firm based in Rotorua; has information on educational grants and scholarships available from local trusts and incorporations.
  • The Pacific Business Trust
    Publishes the Achievers Magazine which provides Pacific students with information on scholarships. The Pacific Business Trust also offers Special Awards Scholarships which are available for Pacific students undertaking tertiary study.
  • Pacific Islands Polynesian Education Foundation (PIPEF)
    Provides financial assistance to Pacific Island students who are enrolled at a tertiary institution in New Zealand.
  • BreakOut
    New Zealand's primary source of funding information for students, researchers, sports people, artists, and those wanting professional development.
