Greetings and welcome to the second edition of our Postgraduate Newsletter for 2014. I hope your semester or quarter is going well. For some of our postgraduate students, your study is coming to an end within the next two months. It’s time to think of what’s next. Our careers section is back again with more advice on thinking and getting ahead. For those of you who are thinking of furthering your postgraduate studies, your department graduate advisers and I will be happy to provide the appropriate advice. We also encourage you to attend our Postgraduate Fair, held in the Business School on Tuesday 27 May. Remember to register online for this event.

The Postgraduate Newsletter provides a channel for communications between the Business School and you, as well as an avenue for you to meet others studying at postgraduate level. In this issue, we congratulate our first round of doctoral scholarship winners for 2014. Our second cohort of GSM Masters students were welcomed to the Business School with an exciting orientation week, and our doctoral cohort celebrated the New Year in Persian style. We also extend an invitation on behalf of our faculty librarians, who encourage you to meet with them to discuss your information and data needs.

The Postgraduate Office organises get-togethers such as pizza lunches and the PhD Writing Retreat coming up in June. Our first pizza lunches this year have had good turnouts and I encourage others who have missed these to come for the next one.

I also encourage you to send any noteworthy news and information to Molly Freeman, the editor of this newsletter, so that we can highlight these in subsequent newsletters, as we are always keen to hear about you. Best wishes.
