CSCM welcomes Marcus Rinaldi

14 June 2018

Kia Ora,

My name is Marcus Rinaldi and I recently started as Principal Advisor for Business Productivity and Sustainability at the Business School. Part of this role has been to take over Brian Stocking’s responsibilities coordinating the Centre for Supply Chain Management’s activities. This includes organising speakers for our "After Five" events, helping put the newsletter together and liaising with our industry partners to book site visits for CSCM members.

The other part of my role is looking at research activities covering productivity and sustainability across the Business School, with a view to coordinate this activity more comprehensively with a common purpose and to extend this out through partnerships in the business community. I hope to extend this out to our industry partners working within supply chain.

I started my career working for Forbes Magazine producing economic and political country reports in Europe and Africa. I moved to New Zealand 17 years ago and in that time I have been involved in the NGO sector as well as working as Business Development Manager for the Chamber of Commerce in their south Auckland youth employment programme. I have also been involved in projects exploring sustainability in the tourism industry. The thread running through my career has been working in value driven, high impact environments that involve many stakeholders with a view to achieving tangible results.

I’m by no means an expert in supply chain but I certainly do take an interest in it as it is the backbone of a healthy trading economy. As the New Zealand economy transitions to a low carbon one in the next few years, it will be interesting to see the role that best practice in supply chain will play in maintaining trading activity in a robust, sustainable and productive way.

I’m sure I will meet some of you in the coming months but also feel free to contact me anytime should you want,

Marcus Rinaldi
Principal Advisor for Business Productivity and Sustainability
