Four top Business School students were chosen for an all-expenses-paid trip to represent the University of Auckland at the NHH International Case Competition in Norway from 2-6 October 2017.

The NHH International Case Competition is the Norwegian School of Economics’ first case competition and one of the first international case competitions in Norway. For one week, 12 teams from top business schools in Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia gathered in the historic city of Bergen to solve a real life business problem.

Our students were Jillin Yan, Brittany Rea, Taylor Brown and Jade Beckmann. The team came third in the competition, a remarkable achievement in the face of such stiff competition.

As well as the stimulation of the competition itself, the students enjoyed sightseeing excursions and social events, which they say was a fantastic opportunity to network with peers from diverse cultures and learn about the Norwegian way of life.

“We were extremely grateful for this eye-opening opportunity to see how top students around the world approach business problems, which allowed us to gain fresh perspectives and challenge our way of thinking. The friendly and supportive participants and organisers made the experience not only rewarding but very enjoyable”, says Jillin.

The team was accompanied and coached by Brendon Potter, Student Development and Engagement Manager at the Business School.
