Trustees of the Fletcher Building Employee Educational Fund have deepened their relationship with the Business School through a $2 million gift to endow the Fletcher Building Education Trust Chair in Leadership. The Fund has supported the Chair, currently held by Professor Brad Jackson, since 2004.

"From the start we felt the leadership Chair to be incredibly important," says Fletcher Building Employee Education Fund Chair, Phillipa Muir.

"There are excellent synergies between the Business School and Fletcher Building in leadership and we are delighted to be able to offer this level of support."

Initially an eight-year sponsorship arrangement, the new funding, in the form of a $2 million gift – which will attract $1 million of matched funding from the Hutton Wilson Trust - will endow the Chair in perpetuity.

"This is a fantastic development, and is due in no small part to Brad's impact in, and passion and commitment for, the role," says Business School Dean, Greg Whittred.

"We have built a very strong brand in the leadership space internationally, and this new level of commitment will continue to underwrite that brand."

The main role of the leadership Chair is to contribute significantly to the development of teaching and research in leadership and organisational behaviour.
