Meet our New Zealand Governance Centre (NZGC) members.

Associate Professor Robert Scollay

The director of the Centre, Associate Professor Robert Scollay, has had a long involvement with both APEC and the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC). He has been a visiting scholar at the Institute for International Economics (Washington DC), UNCTAD (Geneva), Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Singapore), Bocconi University (Milan) and Universidad del Pacifico (Lima). His recent publications have focused on issues relating to regional trade agreements and regional economic integration, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, and to multilateral liberalisation and globalisation.

Professor Nigel Haworth

Professor Nigel Haworth has, on behalf of the New Zealand Government, been a member of the APEC Human Resource Development (HRD) Working Group since 1994. He has been responsible for some forty research projects across the APEC economies and has worked directly with a number of member economies on HRD matters, ranging from Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of China. Working within Latin American APEC member economies, he is currently a member of a team looking at growth and innovation strategies in the developed world, as they may apply to Latin America.
