(Commercial Law)

21 February 2017

6 - 8pm

Venue: The University of Auckland Business School, Level 0, Owen G Glenn Building, 12 Grafton Road, Auckland

Copyright law affects all of us - determining what New Zealanders can access and share online.

  • Does New Zealand copyright law support local innovation?
  • Has it kept up with changes in the Internet and other technologies?

InternetNZ and the Department of Commercial Law invite you to a public event exploring these questions.

We will hear from international experts on copyright and innovation:

  • Michael Geist - Leading expert on copyright and technology in Canada
  • William Patry - Senior Copyright Counsel at Google
  • Meredith Jacob - Assistant Director, Academic Programs, Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property, American University Washington College of Law

There will also be lightning talks from locals at the forefront of making and sharing great creative works (media, filmmakers, educators) who will share their experiences with copyright law in New Zealand.

Drinks and nibbles provided.

Please register below before 16 February.
