Honorary Professor of Innovation and Creativity

The Business School's Honorary Professor of Innovation and Creativity, Kevin Roberts, is the New York–based CEO worldwide of ideas company Saatchi & Saatchi.


Kevin began his career in the late 1960s with the influential London fashion house Mary Quant, and then worked as a senior marketing executive for Gillette and Procter & Gamble in Europe and the Middle East. He was then appointed CEO of Pepsi-Cola Middle East and later became Pepsi’s CEO in Canada.

In 1989 Kevin moved to New Zealand to become Chief Operating Officer with Lion Nathan, moving to Saatchi & Saatchi New York in 1997. He is the inaugural CEO-in-residence at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School and between 2003 and 2007 was Professor in Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Waikato. In 2007 he was appointed an Honorary Professor at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. Kevin commutes between his New York and Auckland bases.

With academic colleagues, Kevin has written a number of books on peak performance, brands and emotions, and the role of the digital age on brands.

A former director of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union, Kevin is Chairman of the USA Rugby Board of Directors, a trustee of the Turn Your Life Around Trust based in Auckland, Sponsor Governor of Lancaster Royal Grammar School and has recently taken on a directorship with Telecom New Zealand Limited.
